"Ghostbusters the Videogame" Review

"I Ain't Fraid' of No Ghost"

I'm sure everyone remembers the movie Ghostbusters. This was a movie that I must have watched a hundred times as a kid. It was just a genuinely fun movie with a good cast and one of the best theme songs ever made. So, how does the newly released Ghostbusters Videogame compare to the original movie? Well, let's take a look.

The first thing anyone who plays this will notice is how great the game looks. It's a spot on recreation of the movie. Everything from the characters to the Ghostbuster's headquarters looks authentic and it almost feels like you're watching the movie. I've got to give the game credit for it's presentation, because it's spot on.

The gameplay is good, however somewhat repetitive. Capturing ghosts is fun at first, but despite what most people would believe, using the photon beam gets old. At least in my opinion. However, the game kept my interest up untill the end of the campaign. The parts throughout the game that involved more action were a lot funner than the parts that involved puzzles, which seemed tacked-on and boring. They also seemed to happen way too frequently. Regardless, the game has it's share of high points that helps to balance out it's overall "fun factor".

If you're a fan of the Ghostbusters movies, there's really no reason not to give this game a try. Visually, it looks remarkable and certainly does the movies the justice they deserve. The gameplay is solid, but may seem somewhat repetitive if catching ghosts doesn't seem like fun to you. Ghostbusters the Videogame is far better than most games that are based on movies. unfortunately, that isn't saying much...

Okay, what else...

Oh yeah, I'm revising the douchebags series to get rid of all the copyrighted music, as well as to touch up the editing. Episode 3 was flagged the other day, and I think it would be for the best if I just got rid of the copyrighted stuff, so expect those to be revised soon.

Lastly, I'm working on a couple things right now. A special video that fans of the old Super Mario RPG will enjoy and I'm trying to finally get started on another machinima short I've been planning for god knows how long.
